Top Of Roosevelt Island Steam Plant Tagged With ZOINKS Graffiti - How Did It Get There, What Does It Mean And Please Remove Asks Resident
Last Saturday, a tipster noticed ZOINKS graffiti tag on top of the Roosevelt Island Steam Plant.
Today, the Twitterverse asks:
The Roosevelt Island Steam Plant supplied power to Goldwater Hospital. The Steam Plant was shut down and decommissioned in November 2014 when Goldwater Hospital was demolished to make way for Cornell Tech. What is this graffiti and how did it get there? Can it please be removed? @Rooseveltisland @RIOCny pic.twitter.com/NyM7jos0wI— HEL✈️JFK (@NYTTYTTYY) June 28, 2018
There is currently no plan for it's future use.
My understanding is that Roosevelt Island steam plant is property of Nyc not @RIOCny. Here’s brief view inside. https://t.co/xulCgVxgW3— Roosevelt Islander (@Rooseveltisland) June 9, 2018
Here's a 2013 lookI think it is owned by @RIOCny based off this article from 2013. Would love to see whatever engineering report was done on the structure. https://t.co/9ynNXY59T0— Mike Bloomberg (@BloombergME) June 10, 2018
