Roosevelt Island Riverwalk Commons Area Gets New Street and Holiday Lights - Not Like Dyker Heights Spectacular But It Is A Start!
This morning, I noticed RIOC staff members working on the newly painted, but all too often, out of service street light polls in the Riverwalk common areas. I was told that they were preparing the polls for the placement of Holiday lights in the Commons area and would also be replacing non-working light bulbs with those that worked. Very good news.
Last week I asked Hudson/Related's David Kramer, the developer of the Riverwalk Buildings whether they would be putting some Holiday Lights in the Southtown area. Mr. Kramer responded by saying that I should contact RIOC since the Riverwalk Commons was a public area which I did. Have not heard back from RIOC but actions speak louder than words so whoever is responsible - Thank You.
This is how they do Holiday/Christmas Lights in Dyker Heights Brooklyn. Could something like this ever be done on Roosevelt Island?
Roosevelt Island Holiday/Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled for December 11. This is what it was like last year.
